Staff at the NLC Orillia Employment Resource Centre support their community throughout the year in various ways, including participating in Tag Day at Zehr's to raise funds for youth programming, making donations to the local Food Bank's fund-raising events, supporting the local Rotary Club by purchasing fund-raising calendars, and offering the use of the ERC space after-hours to community agencies such as the Orillia Youth Opportunities Committee and the Elizabeth Fry Society of Simcoe County.
The Orillia team were busy in December, participating in a day of "tagging" at the Christmas Kettle in the Orillia Mall on behalf of the Salvation Army. They also gathered items for Christmas stockings for the Lighthouse Men's Shelter, and during the week of Dec. 21-24, they provided various food and beverages to clients who stopped in to use the Employment Resource Centre.
In June, 2010, team members attended the graduation ceremony at the Orillia Learning Centre to present the "Believe and Succeed" award, which is sponsored by NLC.
Team members also participated in the North Simcoe Alzheimer Society Tag Day in June, and provided a gift donation to the Information Orillia's "Christmas in June" fundraiser.
